PS Compton Castle
Engines
Removed
from the former River Dart paddler, now moored in the city centre of
Truro, Cornwall, used latterly as a flower shop and tearoom, but
currently out of use as conversion to a high-class restaurant has
failed to materialise. The engines were preserved at the Blackgang
Chine Fantasy Park on the Isle of Wight but in 2015 were sold to the
Paddle Steamer Preservation Society. They are to be exhibited at the
preserved steam railway station at Dartmouth, where Compton Castle's
earlier fleetmate Kingswear Castle is currently in service.
